Operations Research Services :

Operations Research Analysts shall provide relevant and timely analytical support to Regional Command, Division Support Elements, US Brigade Combat Teams and Regimental Combat Teams, C-IED Support Teams, and Provisional Reconstruction Battalions.  Deployed Operations Research Analysts shall provide information to JIEDDO including information regarding effectiveness of JIEDDO initiatives.  Operational support shall include, but is not limited to mining and analyzing C-IED data to identify and categorize trends as an element of supported forces.

• Provide Operations Research Analysts (2 Personnel each at Regional Command, Division Support Elements, US and Coalition Brigade Combat Teams and Regimental Combat Teams, C-IED Support Teams and Provisional Reconstruction Battalions).  Functional responsibilities include:
• Produce quick turn analysis products, routine trend assessments, and analysis of unit operations using Operations Research techniques.
• Facilitate reach-back analysis with the JIEDDO J9 when required.
• Work with embedded staff, such as Law Enforcement personnel, Human Intelligence Teams, and data collectors.
• Assist in evaluation of deployed JIEDDO initiatives.  Facilitate data transfer from theater to CONUS.
• Minimum Experience.  ORSAs shall have five years of experience in Operations Research (OR).  Knowledge of ground forces mission types, force structure, and warfighting concepts, TTPs, and doctrine.  Five years of experience in drafting and making oral presentations to customers.  Training at a Service-accredited Operations Research course, such as the Army’s ORSA MAC I.
• Minimum Education:  Baccalaureate in a technical field.  A “Technical Field” is considered anything with a math, sciences, or engineering background.  The specific degree in these cases is not as important as the ability to work with complex technical issues, as demonstrated by a conferred degree in the technical field. However, Masters Degree in Operations Research or related field is preferred.
• Minimum Security Clearance:  Top Secret/SCI
